Summer Reading Special: Let Their Minds Run Wild

Wielding pirate swords, defending the galaxy, trekking through the wilderness – nothing speaks to the heart of a young boy like an adventure story. With the rise of adventure books the past few years, it is no surprise that these days we are seeing more and more boys browsing through the library, said Kitty St. Clair, Children’s Librarian at the University Park Library.

“Young boys with a love for adventure should start off with the Magic Tree House series and the Geronimo Stilton series, then move to books like Peter and the Starcatcher series,” St. Claire said.

Boys who read more have a healthier imagination, so be ready to turn your backyard into a jungle, your coach into a pirate ship and your study into Harry Potter’s Hogwarts!

Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty understands the value of nurturing a love of reading early in life. Each year, we support reading programs for children and adults throughout the area. For more information, click here.
